      the on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Heritage Center (next to the SG Cinema,

6:00-10pm    E.A.R. Carnival Rides for ALL AGES- check out EIGHT different rides --
     Merry-Go-Round as well as Cars, Motorcycles and Helicopters for younger
     riders PlayPort, Ferris Wheel, Fire Ball and Super Rolo -- $20 for 4-hour PASS
     OR $30 for MEGAPASS with unlimited rides (good through Saturday night)
     ALSO offering variety of fair-type foods including mini-donuts, footlong dogs,
     corndogs, cotton candy and more!

6-7:30pm       BLAST OFF BANQUET - Fest Building with social hour and food
        Entertainment by SGHS Choir; tickets available April 28 through May 9
        at these business locations: A Gift to Gab, Mulqueen’s True Value,
        Spring Grove Herald, Merchants- Spring Grove branch, Solie's Services,
        The Corner Bar and Spring Grove Communications. Prices are: $15 at door
        or in advance, $10 Choir Students or $6 for kids 12 and under;

                         Ann Karen Gronbeck-Petereson’s Viking Knit Display and Demonstration
       at the Bluff Country Artists Gallery: Ann will be on hand to demonstrate the
       ancient art of Norwegian Metal Working. She also works with Norwegian
       Viking Knit, an intricate weaving of fine metal wires, and hammered metal,
       creating beautiful Viking Era style attire; Event is FREE and open to the public.

                         Doris Morken Memorial Art Display and Story Sharing- at the Bluff
       Country Artists Gallery; A friend and former teacher to many in Spring Grove,
       Doris will share a very personal and special piece to her family and the story
       surrounding it. Event is FREE and open to the public.

                        Shoppers to the Gallery enjoy a 5% discount for these two days only.
       Supporting members will receive their 10% discount + the additional 5%!

10am-4pm    Quilt Show at the Spring Grove Public Library

                        Genealogy Research with assistance from Georgia Rosendahl and
   Dr. Thom Carlson in the Rosendahl Library, and with genetic genealogy expert.
   Dr. Johnathan Storlie in Immigrant Hall - Heritage Center; Fees may apply

10am-6pm    Tappy’s Face Painting at the Fest Building (for a fee)

10:30a-12:30p  Guided tour on the Norwegian Ridge Birding & Nature Trail by
         naturalist Rhan Flatin; option of walking 1 or 2 miles; meet at the trailhead
         sign next to Red’s IGA. Binoculars would be helpful so bring if you have some.

11:00am        Pedal Pull - Fest Building - Registration 10:30am; Kids ages 4-11
      compete against others from their own age group. Trophies for the top
      three places in each age group; 12 to 16-year-olds pull for free;
      1st, 2nd & 3rd-place winners receive certificates.

            After parade Soap Box Races - South Division Ave. Sponsored by SG Lions and Giants of Earth; Cost is $3.00 per run and helmets are provided for those who don’t have their own. All ages welcome, children under 3 years of age need
parental permission to drive.

3-4:30pm      Norwegian Craft & Food Demonstrations by Sons of Norway,
    Legion front room

3:00-5 pm     Jill Storlie Display and Reception at the Bluff Country Artists Gallery,
        See Jill’s art and join her for an informal reception where visitors can chat
        with Jill about her work and time in Norway; Event is FREE.

5:00pm          Sawdust Pile - Fest Building Grounds, Sponsored by Merchants Bank- SG

6-9:00pm      School Dance w/DJ Dusty (First through Sixth-grade) - $3.00 cover

Community Events on May 18

11am- 1pm   Trinity Lutheran Meatball Dinner- 203 East Main Street; Serving-
     Meatballs, Potatoes & Gravy, Glazed Carrots, Coleslaw, Lefse, Rommegrot
     Dessert Coffee & Milk; $9 Adults and ALL carryout meals, $5 Children 5 – 12
     and FREE for Children under 5; Half of the proceeds go to Heifer International
